
Gary Stern is the founder and President of JaMarcus China, LLC. Gary is currently a member at the law firm of Stahl Cowen Crowley Addis LLC. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Cornell University in 1980 and his J.D. from The University of Chicago in 1983.
Gary's practice focuses on international law, immigration law, business law, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, taxation, asset protection, wealth transfer and estate planning.
As part of his international law and immigration law practices, he has developed the "Welcome to USA program", a comprehensive program of services for Chinese corporations and high-net-worth persons interested in the United States. As part of his estate planning, wealth transfers, asset protection, and taxation practices, Gary has developed and copywritten various "wealth preservation" structures and arrangements designed to increase the level of asset protection for clients from unanticipated liabilities, litigation and creditors. Gary also has significant experience in the areas of securities, employee benefits, real estate, trademarks, copyrights, intellectual property issues, small power producer and green power regulation, and secured lending.
Gary travels extensively to China and has established a Stahl Cowen representative office in Shanghai. Gary has been selected to the Leading Lawyers network each year from 2003 to the present, and most recently, Gary was featured in the Leading Lawyers Network Magazine-Consumer Edition 2009.
